A cat with early kidney disease looks like a cat. So does a cat with hyperthyroidism, or a heart murmur, or the beginning of diabetes. Feline medicine depends on looking beneath the surface, and our in-house diagnostic tools let us do that quickly — often with answers before you leave.
In-House Laboratory
Our on-site laboratory means results in minutes rather than days. Complete blood counts, chemistry panels, thyroid levels, urinalysis, and more are run here, interpreted here, and discussed with you here. For a sick cat, that speed changes outcomes. For a healthy one, it means you’re not left waiting and wondering.
Digital X-Rays
Digital radiography gives us a clear, immediate view inside your cat — bones, chest, abdomen, and the swallowed objects cats are famous for. Images are available instantly, use less radiation than traditional film, and can be shared easily with specialists when a second set of eyes is warranted.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound lets us see organs working in real time, without radiation and without invasive procedures. It’s especially valuable for evaluating the kidneys, liver, bladder, and intestines, and for assessing heart function. Painless and non-invasive, it often answers the questions an X-ray can only raise. We partner with a trusted outside provider and can coordinate and schedule an appointment for your cat on your behalf, if needed.
Blood Pressure Monitoring
Hypertension is common in cats and frequently silent, traveling alongside kidney disease and hyperthyroidism. Left untreated, it can cause sudden blindness or organ damage. Measuring blood pressure is quick and painless, and for senior cats, it’s a routine part of a thorough evaluation rather than an extra.
Wellness & Senior Screening
Baseline testing on a healthy cat is one of the most useful things we can have. It tells us what normal looks like for your cat specifically, so a subtle change three years from now is recognizable as a change. Screening finds disease at the stage where it’s most treatable, and is especially important for senior cats.
